As some of you know, photography is one of my biggest passions. I love going on a day trip to one of our nearby zoos and taking photos of the animals there. Photobooks are a great way of having a permanent souvenir of your photos. Read on to see why I think you should print a photobook or take a look at the photos I’ve taken here.
The only trouble I have with photogrpahy is organising my photos to showcase them as best as possible. I was beyond excited to receive a voucher from Saal Digital UK to create one of their Professional Line Photobooks!
It’s easy to pass creating a photobook off as a task which will take forever and not give you the product you want at the end. That’s why I’ve put together a list of the reasons you should print a photobook and you’ll love the fact you have!
1. Print a photobook to spark conversation
You might want to print a photobook of a recent holiday or a portfolio. Either way, they look impressive and will enable you to start the conversations you want. They’re a perfect gift to friends and family to preserve your holiday memories or another life event like moving house
2. Don’t condemn your photos to digital folders
I can take thousands of photos in one day. If I don’t do anything with them then they will be condemned to a digital folder. It’s tricky to flick through digital folders – and you’re not showing off your best photos
Thinking about creating a photobook? Start by creating a folder on your computer. Put all your favourite photos in and take out any photos you don’t love.
3. It will make you a better photographer
You’ll take a look at your photos in more detail. What do you particularly love? Whether it’s taking a closer look at the natural world, street photography or maybe you’re a foodie at heart. You’ll see which photos ignite a spark – giving you more ideas for stunning photos.
On top of that, it’s easy to take a picture, pass it off as “average”, forget about it then move on. Celebrating your achievements is all part of the process. This is also about getting inspiration for more photos.
4. It’s completely your own
From the photos you put into the book to how you display them actually in the book. You could try grouping them into themes. No one else has a book like yours!
Saal Digital has different stickers and backgrounds you can apply to your pages. You can add as many captions as you like. Add your own creative flair with their stickers and colours for each page.
5. There’s something to suit all budgets
When creating your photobook, everything is under your control. You could change up the colours or surface of your front and back covers. You also have the option of making each page glossy or not. You can make use of the extensive templates – put more than 1 image on a page. You might need to think outside the box, but this is a luxury you are able to afford.
