Hi, I’m Claire

I’ve been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I remember being sat on the banks near a castle – Bodiam Castle I think – with a film camera recording some of my first holiday snaps.  Around this time I also remember taking on board the crucial lesson that you can NEVER expose film negatives to the sunlight – we live and learn! 

Photography isn’t just pointing a camera towards an object, it’s a form of art. I liken it to painting – although instead of using a paintbrush, you’re painting with pixels. After studying Animal Science at University, I specialise in animal and nature photography. I loved being completely surrounded by zoos and wildlife parks. Although, day-to-day the animals never change, the best thing was being able to capture their expressions combined with their changing moods and weather! I passionately believe that photography can be a vehicle for us to understand more about the world around us.
